At this very moment, the streets of Metropolitan Manila (and Cebu and also Davao, I believe) are alive with the sound of angry crowds protesting the convening of the Constituent Assembly. YOU KNOW IT'S SERIOUS WHEN THE INDIE ROCK BANDS START COMING OUT OF THE WOODWORK.
But I've been living under a rock, lately, so enlighten me: why does the government want Charter Change again? THIS government, I mean, because as far as I can remember each administration after Cory Aquino's has been accused of this Charter Change business.
Also: Dear Catholic Church of the Philippines: STOP POKING YOUR NOSES INTO STATE BUSINESS. Jaime Cardinal Sin only got away with it because he had a sense of humor. And you, sirs, are no Jaime Cardinal Sin.
ANC's Tony Velasquez just called the protests a "tindignation". Get it? "Tindig" nation? Oh Tony, you comedian.
