The entire island of Luzon was plunged into darkness last night, thank you so very much Typhoon Basyang. We only got the power back right now. We've pretty lucky, because we're part of the 8% of Metro Manila that has power already.

Great. Now I have to go back to work.

Not an Ondoy situation this time, thank goodness. But the wind was really REALLY strong last night. Blew down two of the big trees in the front and side garden.

As of right now 20% of Manila's power grid has been restored. I was listening to AM radio earlier and NDC/Meralco project that it will be 2-3 days before everything is up and running at 100%.

When full power is restored there will be a sign in bright neon lights that says: "HELLO, SWEETIE."
